Qualifications: At least 1 year of grooming experience is preferred. Ambassador For Safety: A fundamental requirement for this role is the ability to comprehend basic animal behavior and body language, enabling you to assess whether it’s safe to groom the pet. Critical thinking skills are necessary under pressure, given that we work with living animals that can sometimes exhibit unpredictability.

Training: You’ll start with an extensive in-store training period under the supervision of a manager, which you must successfully complete. Additionally, there’s a requirement to attend mandatory advanced pet and pet product training courses, along with occasional in-store training sessions. Your managers will also provide on-the-job instructions to help you excel in your role.

Salary Range: Grooming Stylists enjoy competitive pay, which includes a combination of commission and hourly rates, with the greater of the two determining the compensation (pay grade may differ based on training and experience).

Time Commitment: Work full- or part-time with varying hours. We may need you for some overtime when necessary. Schedules subject to change based on business needs.

Physical Requirements: In this position, you can expect substantial physical activity, which includes but is not limited to prolonged standing, the secure lifting and management of dogs/cats, bending, leaning, and crouching. It’s important to be capable of regularly lifting and transporting around 60 pounds.

Duties include:

• Providing clients with education about various packages and their associated benefits.
• Effectively communicating with customers, utilizing open-ended questions to ascertain the best grooming method for their pets, and displaying patience throughout the conversation.
• Dedicating efforts to deliver outstanding service and grooming quality, ensuring that every customer departs with a contented smile.
• Being meticulous and detail-oriented, closely adhering to the precise instructions provided by customers.
• Diligently observing pet behavior to proactively avoid potential harm to both the pet and oneself.
• Offering clients insights into different packages and the advantages they offer.
• Professional grooming to include:
• Care and compassion for animals
• Checking for parasites and other skin conditions
• Bathing and clipping animals to conform to a variety of breed-specific styles
• Detangling and removing matted fur
• Drying the coat
• Trimming nails
• Cleaning the ears
• Grand expressions
• Brushing teeth
• Promoting add-on services and retail to maintain animal care until next visit
• Time management.
• Keeping abreast of changes and trends in the pet industry and grooming standards.
• Efficiently handling phone inquiries and expertly coordinating grooming appointments.
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment by regularly tidying the facility and equipment.
• Eagerly and proficiently completing other duties delegated by supervisors with a positive and efficient approach.
