Store Manager

Pet Evolution is seeking a full-time Store Manager to lead our Chanhassen store. At Pet Evolution, Our mission is to help pets live the good life by providing the highest quality food, treats and grooming services.” 

As the Store Leader, you will reflect our company mission in everything you do. This position is performed under direct supervision of the store owner and or designee.  

Qualifications: You must be passionate about helping pets, serving customers and providing superb customer service, and you must be capable of inspiring coworkers to do the same. Must be caring, compassionate and sincerely share our values. Must be disciplined, have a drive to succeed, and the interpersonal skills required to lead others in our supportive style. We also look for the capability and willingness to think quantitatively, manage specific sales outcomes, and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Self-awareness, empathy, good social skills and a strong drive for achievement are the keys to success at Pet Evolution.  

Store Manager qualifications and skills:  

  • Associates and/or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is desired 
  • 3+ years of retail supervisory and or management experience 
  • Point of sale knowledge 
  • Strong understanding of sales and customer service 
  • Ability to work within a budget 
  • Proven history of success 

Store Manager Responsibilities may include: 

  • responsible for day to day operations 
  • Inventory management 
  • 30% plus of time working hands on in retail floor 
  • Ability to motivate team to ensure for a positive and fun work environment 
  • Leading and supervising staff (Wellness associates, Groomers, Bathers  & Mobile nail tech’s) 
  • Management of controllable costs to keep operations profitable 
  • Development of in-store events throughout the year 
  • Coaching and conducting 1:1’s and reviews and monthly team meetings 
  • Interview, hire, and train new employees 
  • All Staff scheduling 
  • Able to establish clear and concise goal expectations 
  • Community outreach events 
  • Enforcing store policy and procedures 
  • Ensuring that customer service and satisfaction exceeds our clients’ expectations 
  • Assisting in directing sales in accordance with company philosophy and procedures; 
  • Staff payroll  
  • Opening and closing the store, performing daily reconciliation, cash handling, and bank deposits; 
  • Month end and quarterly sale reports; 
  • communicating with staff, providing reports; 
  • dealing with personnel issues within the store; 
  • On-the-job training of staff in service sales, product knowledge, and operations; 
  • Maintaining store appearance; 
  • Tracking and reporting store performance; 
  • Procuring product and maintaining accurate inventory control; 
  • Product merchandising 

Training: There is an extensive training period conducted by Corporate. 

Salary range: Dependent upon qualifications and experience. 

Benefits:   

Store Managers are eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO).  PTO is added to Managers PTO Bank the first pay period of each calendar year at a rate of 80 hours per year.   Further employee benefit details are outlined in the store manual.   

Time Commitment Both Exempt and Non-Exempt General Managers are hired on a full-time basis to work a minimum of 40 hours per seven-day workweek.  Overtime is required for non-exempt hired management. You must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis. You must also be able to fill in with little or no notice.   

Physical requirements; You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
