We have been fielding a lot of questions from our customers about the on-going grain-free food debate.
We want to reassure you that we are ON IT. We have been researching the FDA’s findings while talking to veterinarians and nutritionists, as well as asking our food manufacturers for more information.
Pet Evolution is working to cut through the confusion. And, we have found that there is a lot of it!
We have read the report from the FDA data collection in regards to dogs developing Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM).
Here are a few highlights”
-The FDA has not yet determined the nature of the possible connection between these foods and canine DCM.
-Because the FDA has received reports of DCM in pets that have eaten grain-free diets and also reports from pets who have eaten grain-based diets, the FDA does not think these cases can be explained simply by whether or not the pet’s food contains grains, or by brand or manufacturer.
-The FDA does not have definitive information indicating that any grain-free products need to be recalled and taken off the market.
-The FDA does not advise dietary changes for your pet based solely on the information gathered so far.
Meanwhile, we stand by the products we sell. We were touched to see so many of you doing the same. We recently asked our Facebook followers to post how food purchased at Pet Evolution has benefited your pet. Many of you responded with positive comments on grain-free brands and posted pictures of your happy and healthy pets. (Please note: Pet Evolution sells BOTH grain and grain-free foods).
