Zignature’s team works closely with the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). Zignature recipes are formulated to meet all the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles. This certifies that Zignature is a nutritionally complete product that can be fed to your pet as its sole ration without adding any other substance except water.
Zignature also works with BSM Partners, an independent consulting firm which partners with more than 500 pet companies on creating more than 800 products every year—from cat and dog food and treats, to zoo animal diets.
And get this: After each recipe is produced in their kitchens, Zignature deploys a three-step cleaning process to clean equipment ensuring pure recipes. First, all equipment is thoroughly cleaned. Second, they produce 750 pounds of the new recipe and then destroy all of it. Third, they make an additional 100 pounds of the new recipe and then package and discard it. This is likely an expensive endeavor for the company, but we consider it proof that they are investing in the safety of their product and the health of your pet!
